The Brief
Settled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, and surrounded by field sits this stunning Dales Longhouse which has undergone extensive renovation throughout and most recently, the owners have updated their kitchen.
Wanting a classic country kitchen style that fit with the rest of the house, the couple chose Whitby from the Laura Ashley Kitchen collection. By choosing the hand-painted finishes of ivory and pumice, the room feel light and airy and gives a sense of roominess in the kitchen.
The kitchen incorporates lots of storage options, such as the pull-out larder units either side of the large American style fridge freezer. The kitchen features modern appliances, such as the stainless steel NEFF Slide & Hide oven (from GBBO fame!) as well as an integrated dishwasher beside the Belfast sink. By incorporating these appliances the kitchen has a contemporary twist on the traditional country kitchen which fits perfectly with the rest of the house.
“We love our kitchen; it’s just perfect for us and is exactly as we hoped.
Our 300 year old property had been fully restored from dereliction some 20 years ago and having updated the bathrooms and it was time to work on the kitchen. The original had been a natural wood finish but we now wanted a painted finish. We knew immediately that the Laura Ashley kitchens, as seen in a showroom, were of the high quality and design that we were looking for. We chose a traditional style in complementary colours of Ivory and Pumice.
The whole room now seems lighter, brighter and the cupboards and larder units provide so much storage space. The granite worktops set the units off perfectly and are really easy to keep clean.
We were given confidence by the Laura Ashley name on the kitchen with the added reassurance that it`s made in Britain too!”
