The Brief
We were recently invited to look around a new Laura Ashley kitchen by Megan Silk as all the renovation work had been completed. Wanting a country kitchen that would fit in with the style and settings of their house, they selected the Harwood range. Harwood is an elegantly finely crafted in-frame timber design, and when combined with traditional period features such as plate racks and glazed china cabinets it offers a country kitchen style with a modern twist.
Megan and her husband chose the subtle shades of Pumice and Ivory in both the kitchen and utility room which makes both spaces seem airy and bright.
“We visited our local retailer in Shrewsbury which was Home Gallery and met with the team there. David guided us through the entire process from start to finish and although we knew what we wanted, he made smart suggestions about things like storage.
We wanted to go for a classic style that would suit our house and how we used the kitchen, and we loved the idea of a more open plan kitchen and dining area. We opened up the kitchen by knocking through into the dining room, so we needed a style that would suit something more open plan which is why we chose Harwood. It perfectly suited the style we were after and was available in so many colours it was difficult to choose, but we knew we wanted to a bit of colour, but not too much; we eventually chose Pumice and Ivory after we saw all the available colours when we discussed it with Home Gallery. I’m ever so please with the finished kitchen and utility room, I couldn’t be happier. It always receives high praise when anyone visits
We would recommend choosing an independent retailer like Home Gallery, as they were so knowable and we able to make suggestions where they could make improvements on our requirements. Home Gallery managed the entire project from start to finish and their fitter was fantastic and the job they all did was first rate.”
